What the Merca Staph Infection is and how to prevent it from infecting you.
The Merca Staph Infection can happen in any part of the human body
but the face, the arms and the legs are the most common since they are
the most exposed parts of the body. Areas that sweat a lot e.g. the
underarms can harbor the infection which can spread from one area of
the body to the others very fast. People with wounds or scratches are
also prone to infections and that is why the need to cover up the
wounds until they are healed. At the beginning, the Merca Staph
Infection was a disease of sick people, whose immune system was
weakened. Right now the bacteria have mutated and can spread to
everybody regardless of the immunity. Still, the person who has a
strong immune system can fight the bacteria better than a person whose
immune system is weak.
The Staph infection, otherwise known as a staphylococcal infection
can be spread through contact with a person who already has the
bacteria in their body. Contact with their wounds could cause an
infection. Nurse and doctors are prone to this infection in hospitals
since they are the caregivers of persons who have the infections. They
may come into contact with the clothes, combs razors and towels of
persons who already have the infection. Persons who have the bacteria
can spread the bacteria to other through body fluids and even the
hair. Barbershops and hair salons could have the bacteria which can
infect as well.
The symptoms of the Merca Staph Infection will depend on how you
were contaminated with the bacteria. You may get a rash which looks
like insect bites in the place of contact with the bacteria. If not
treated immediately they enlarge, become red and swollen and some may
become boils. At the initial stages, they can be treated with
antibiotic cream. The rashes may appear in the armpits, the groin and
the head, where there is a lot of hair. This may require the hair to
be cut for the treatment of the boils or the whiteheads.
Prevention is better than cure; the maintenance of personal
hygiene is the best way to combat this infection. Cover up all the
wounds and scratches you have until they are healed. Avoid sharing
clothes towels and other personal items. Wash these every time with
disinfectants. Don' share bed linens with anyone. Make sure you seek
intervention to arrest the Merca Staph Infection in time.
